Secondary English Teacher - Remote

Location: Online, Remote

Recruiter: MZ Talent Group

Salary: Up to £35.00 per hour, experience dependent.

Contract: Self Employed

About the Role

MZ Talent Group is recruiting an experienced Secondary English Teacher on behalf of an online school.

The successful candidate will teach students in Years 8, 9 and 10, following the Pearson International curriculum.

This is a fully remote, hourly, self employed position for 12 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well structured online English lessons to students in Years 8, 9 and 10.
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the Pearson International curriculum.
  • Assess student progress and provide clear and constructive feedback.
  • Support students in developing their reading, writing, comprehension and analytical skills.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, participation and engagement within the online classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Prepare student reports and participate in parents' evenings when required.
  • Attend relevant school meetings.
  • Create a positive, structured and supportive online learning environment.
  • Act as a professional and positive role model for students at all times.

Requirements

  • You must have a PGCE with QTS from a UK University.
  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience in teaching Secondary English.
  • Strong knowledge of the Pearson International curriculum, or experience teaching a comparable international curriculum.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Confidence using online teaching platforms and digital learning resources.
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable professional home working environment.
  • Strong communication, organisational and time management skills.
  • Professional, dependable and student focused.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the maturity, conduct and professionalism expected of a positive role model for young people.

Contract Details

  • Fully remote position.
  • Self employed contract.
  • 12 hours per week.
  • Monday to Thursday.
  • Candidates must be available between 09:00 and 15:30 UK time, Monday to Thursday.
  • Up to £35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Meetings are paid.
  • 20% PPA time included for planning, preparation and assessment.
  • An additional week of pay is provided for report writing and parents' evening responsibilities.
