Secondary PE Teacher - The Wirral - September Start
Academics, a reputable education recruitment agency, is seeking an energetic, motivating, and dynamic Secondary PE Teacher for a variety of flexible daily supply, short-term, and long-term opportunities at supportive schools across The Wirral.
If you have a genuine passion for physical literacy, sport, and inspiring young people to stay active, we want to hear from you. We are looking for a fully Qualified Teacher who can bring energy, strong leadership, and enthusiasm to the sports hall and playing fields as a Secondary PE Teacher in The Wirral this September.
Role Overview
- Deliver & Engage: Plan and deliver energetic, inclusive Physical Education lessons across Key Stage 3 and possibly Key Stage 4 (covering core PE as well as GCSE/BTEC Sport theory where required).
- Flexibility: Step into diverse PE departments across The Wirral for flexible daily cover, short-term sickness cover, or planned long-term block placements.
- Inclusivity & Motivation: Encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits, adapting sports activities to suit students of all abilities and engagement levels.
- Extra-Curricular Opportunities: Support or lead after-school sports clubs, fixtures, and school tournaments during longer-term assignments.

Requirements
- Qualifications: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/ECT) and a degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching the UK Physical Education curriculum as a Secondary PE Teacher.
- Skills: Strong leadership, enthusiasm, excellent classroom and pitch management, and a commitment to student safety and inclusion.
- Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Location: Based in or easily able to commute to secondary schools throughout The Wirral.
