About The Role
The SecOps Engineer role at Context Recruitment Limited is a critical position designed for a proactive security professional eager to make a significant impact within a dynamic construction engineering business. Located in Central London with a hybrid working model, this position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and enhance the company's security operations during a period of substantial digital transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and improving the company's security posture across application, network, and infrastructure domains. This role requires a hands-on approach, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to mitigate risks, respond to security incidents, and automate security processes. As a key member of the security team, you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, resilience, and security excellence across the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills, certifications, and practical experience in security operations. Recognized security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or relevant Microsoft security certifications are essential. Proven hands-on experience in SecOps or incident response environments is required, demonstrating the ability to handle real-time security threats and incidents effectively. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS security and hardening practices is necessary, along with the ability to automate tasks using PowerShell scripting. Familiarity with cloud-native security across platforms like M365, Azure, and AWS is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience working with enterprise IT infrastructure, including network security, vulnerability management, and security tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Monitor security tools including SIEM (QRadar) and respond promptly to threat detection alerts.
- Triage, analyze, and prioritize security incidents using ServiceNow, ensuring swift resolution.
- Investigate root causes of security issues and design effective remediation strategies.
- Oversee Patch Management processes to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Conduct vulnerability scans using Qualys, analyze results, and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Document security operations processes and create knowledge base articles aligned with best practices.
- Automate security tasks and toolchains through scripting (PowerShell, Batch, etc.) to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with external Security Operations Center (SOC) teams to coordinate security efforts.
- Prepare detailed post-incident reports and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Manage end-user device security via MS Intune, Sophos, and NinjaOne platforms.
- Schedule and assess vulnerability scans on critical infrastructure components.
- Maintain patching compliance for operating systems, Microsoft Office, and third-party applications.
- Support infrastructure teams in deploying secure systems, enhancing security policies, and managing security-driven changes.
- Produce weekly security operations reports to inform management and stakeholders.
- Manage Cisco Umbrella web filtering and SSL inspection policies to enforce security standards.
