About The Role
The SecOps Engineer role is a critical leadership position within the company's cybersecurity team, responsible for safeguarding the organization’s digital assets and infrastructure. Based in Central London with hybrid working arrangements, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive security professional to contribute to the company’s security posture during a period of significant digital transformation. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats, implementing security controls, and ensuring compliance across various systems and applications. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, including Security Operations Center (SOC) teams, to develop and execute strategies that mitigate risks and enhance the organization's security resilience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in security operations, incident response, and infrastructure security. Recognized security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or relevant Microsoft certifications are essential. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows OS security, hardening, and scripting (PowerShell) for automation is required. A good understanding of cloud-native security across M365, Azure, and AWS platforms is also necessary. Candidates should have experience working with enterprise IT infrastructure, vulnerability management tools, and security monitoring solutions. Additional familiarity with Qualys, Varonis, ServiceNow, and network security concepts will be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Monitor security tools including SIEM (QRadar) and respond promptly to threat detection alerts to mitigate potential risks.
- Triage, analyze, and prioritize security incidents using ServiceNow, ensuring effective resolution and documentation.
- Investigate root causes of security issues and design remediation strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee patch management processes, ensuring timely updates for operating systems, applications, and third-party software.
- Conduct vulnerability scans using Qualys, analyze scan results, and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk levels.
- Document security operations processes and create knowledge base articles to promote best practices across the organization.
- Automate security tasks and integrate security toolchains through scripting languages such as PowerShell and Batch scripts.
- Collaborate with external SOC teams to coordinate threat intelligence and incident response activities.
- Prepare post-incident reports and perform root cause analysis to improve security protocols.
- Manage end-user device security using tools like MS Intune, Sophos, and NinjaOne to ensure endpoint protection.
- Schedule and evaluate vulnerability scans on critical infrastructure components to identify potential security gaps.
- Maintain patching compliance across all systems, including operating systems, Microsoft Office, and third-party applications.
- Support infrastructure teams in deploying secure systems, enforcing security policies, and managing security-driven changes.
- Produce weekly security operations reports to inform management and facilitate continuous improvement.
- Manage Cisco Umbrella web filtering and SSL inspection policies to control internet access and monitor web traffic.
