Secretary
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
An established professional services organisation is looking for an experienced Secretary to join their team. This is a specialist patent secretarial position suited to someone with at least three years' experience working within an IP practice. You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to a busy team, working closely with fee earners, clients and internal departments.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to fee earners
- Preparing patent and design applications, correspondence and other documentation
- Managing deadlines, due-date reports and weekly last-day lists, ensuring matters are dealt with accurately and on time
- Maintaining client and case records, including updating information and documents on relevant systems
- Liaising with clients and internal teams, assisting with billing, invoices and general case administration

The ideal candidate will have:
- At least three years' patent secretarial experience gained within an IP practice
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach to client care
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
