Are you an experienced Secretary with excellent audio typing skills who is looking for a varied, long-term secretarial position within a professional and supportive environment?

Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a highly regarded specialist firm in Nottinghamshire in their search for an experienced Secretary to join their close-knit team.

This is a varied role providing support across three different departments, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable adapting to changing workloads. You’ll provide essential secretarial and administrative support, with a particular focus on audio typing, document preparation, diary management and helping the wider team operate efficiently.

The position would particularly suit someone who genuinely enjoys secretarial work and wants to build a stable, long-term career within a dedicated support role.

Both full-time and part-time applications will be considered. Full-time employees will benefit from hybrid working following probation, with three days working from home and two days in the office. Part-time working will be fully office-based. In return, the successful candidate will receive a salary of c£25,000 FTE, alongside 23 days’ annual leave, onsite parking, a healthcare cash plan and company pension scheme.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a Secretary or similar professional support position
  • Excellent audio typing, digital dictation and document-formatting skills
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Outlook knowledge, with fast and accurate typing ability
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Professional, discreet and confident when communicating with clients and colleagues

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support across three departments, including diary and deadline management
  • Complete accurate audio typing and transcription from digital dictation
  • Draft, format and prepare correspondence, reports and other case-related documentation
  • Maintain client files, internal records and the case-management system
  • Handle enquiries, liaise with clients and external professionals, and provide wider team support when required
