Senior/Section Engineer - Civils

We're looking for a Senior/Section Engineer - Civils to join our Calvert team based in Calvert. The project involves the delivery of complex civil engineering works, including bridges, road realignments, earthworks, drainage systems, structures, and associated infrastructure.

Hours

45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior/Section Engineer - Civils, you'll be working within the Calvert team, supporting them in delivering major infrastructure projects. You'll play a key part in delivering a defined section of civil engineering works safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with the team to ensure technical compliance across structures, highways, drainage and earthworks packages, whilst supporting and mentoring engineering staff to achieve project objectives.

  • Managing engineering activities for your section, ensuring construction aligns with drawings, specifications and project requirements
  • Developing short-term programmes and coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
  • Leading quality compliance including inspections, testing and maintaining accurate as-built records
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely in accordance with RAMS, delivering toolbox talks and monitoring compliance
  • Supervising and mentoring Site Engineers and junior staff, providing technical guidance and support

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior/Section Engineer - Civils is great for you if:

  • You hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • You have demonstrable experience delivering structures, highways, drainage and earthworks packages
  • You have proven experience working on major infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects
  • You have strong technical knowledge of civil engineering construction and a good understanding of QA processes and engineering documentation
  • You hold a CSCS Manager Card and have strong planning, organisational and communication skills
