Senior Section Engineer - Civils

We're looking for a Senior Section Engineer - Civils to join our team in Twyford, Buckinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a major civil engineering and infrastructure project, helping to drive safe, efficient and high-quality construction while developing your technical leadership career with Kier.

Location

Twyford, Buckinghamshire – site based 5 days per week

Hours

Permanent Full Time, 45 hours per week

Role Overview

As a Senior Section Engineer - Civils, you'll take ownership of the engineering and technical delivery of a designated section of works. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and site management, you'll help ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme, and in line with design specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Section Engineer - Civils, you'll be part of a collaborative team delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure works, using your technical expertise to support successful project outcomes.

Day To Day, Your Role Will Include

  • Managing engineering activities across a section of works, ensuring construction is delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Producing short-term programmes and look-ahead plans, coordinating labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to maintain project progress
  • Maintaining accurate inspection, testing, and as-built records to support quality assurance and project compliance
  • Leading site briefings and promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across the project
  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to Site Engineers and junior engineering team members

What We're Looking For

Role

This Senior Section Engineer - Civils role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading on-site engineering activities, solving complex technical challenges, and supporting the development of high-performing teams. We're looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification
  • Progress towards Chartered Engineer status, ideally through the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure, or major construction projects
  • Experience leading or supporting engineering teams within a live construction environment
  • A solid understanding of quality assurance processes, technical documentation, and project record management
