You will be joining a multi-accredited and well-established Tier 1 contractor with a strong reputation for delivering highways, infrastructure, and public realm projects across the UK. With a healthy pipeline of secured work and a commitment to investing in its people, the business offers the opportunity to work on high-profile schemes that have a lasting impact on local communities. Due to continued growth, they are actively seeking a Section Engineer to support the delivery of a major roundabout improvement scheme in Colchester.
Your new role
As Section Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a significant roundabout project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager, you will coordinate site activities, manage engineering teams and subcontractors, and provide technical support throughout the construction phase.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing setting out and surveying activities on site
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and project requirements
- Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, and quality documentation
- Coordinating subcontractors and site teams to maintain programme targets
- Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring technical compliance
- Supporting the management of temporary works and permit systems
- Identifying and resolving engineering issues to minimize project risk
- Promoting high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
- Experience at a Section Engineer level within civil engineering, ideally on highways or public realm schemes
- Excellent setting out and engineering capabilities
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes and site documentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
- CSCS card and full UK driving licence
