Job Introduction
We currently have a vacancy for a Section Engineer within our Earthworks & Structures Delivery Unit, working in Euston.
The Euston Approaches delivery team are restarting works on Euston Scissor Box and Park Village East starting in early 2026.
The nature of the works involves top-down construction with a combination of piling, sheet piling, complex propping schemes, bulk earthworks, FRC and pre-cast concrete.
This scope of works is paired with the already ongoing works for Hampstead Road Bridge (HRB), Euston Throat Retained Cut (ETRC) and the finishing works on Granby Terrace Bridge (GTB) and Cavern Pre-TBM mitigation works.
As a result, we are now looking to use our experienced staff across the project to assist us in the delivery of this increased scope and remaining scope at Euston. This opportunity provides the potential for working in a unique environment within Central London, neighboured by live Network rail Infrastructure, live highways and occupied residential / commercial buildings.

- Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation, as required by these statements and plans, is produced in a timely manner.
- Communicate with works managers, foremen, gangers, workforce and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
- Communicate to the QA and QS teams non-conformances, and any instructions received from the client / designer / RE’s staff. Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
- Procurement of Plant, Materials and Equipment through Requisitions.
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / RE / project team.
- Adherence to project policies and procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
