Site Engineer / Section Engineer – Shetland Islands
The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Site Engineer / Section Engineer to work on a major power infrastructure project in the Shetland Islands.
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 basic + Car / Car allowance + Bonus
Location: Shetland Islands
Shift Pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off
Lodging subsistence: £24,000 Subsistence + Monthly bonus + Accommodation + Fully paid travel / Flights + Monthly overtime as part of the normal working day + Project completion bonus.
The Opportunity
The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Site Engineer or hands-on Section Engineer for a major infrastructure project in the Shetland Islands.
The project involves the construction of a new substation and significant power supply upgrades across the islands.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer or Section Engineer looking to work on a major infrastructure scheme while benefiting from a highly competitive package, including accommodation, travel, subsistence and additional project bonuses.

Importantly, you do not need previous power-sector experience. The contractor is looking for engineers with a strong background in heavy civil engineering and infrastructure, who are confident working on site and carrying out setting-out activities.
Following completion of the project, there will be opportunities to move onto other major infrastructure projects across the UK.
What We're Looking For
You will have experience working in a Site Engineering capacity on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
- Highways & Roads
- Airports
- Power & Energy
- Rail
- Water & Utilities
- Environmental projects
- Flood Defence
- Major Groundworks / Civil Engineering
The key requirement is that you are comfortable working on a live construction site and have practical experience with setting out, surveying and delivering heavy civil engineering works.

Required Experience
- HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer or Section Engineer on a major civil engineering/infrastructure project.
Location & Travel
- You can be based anywhere in the UK for this position.
- Due to the location of the project, we recommend being within easy travelling distance of a major airport, as the typical journey involves flying to Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen, followed by a connecting flight to the Shetland Islands.
- All approved project-related flights and travel expenses will be covered by the company.
