Location

Sellafield, Cumbria

Salary

£55k + £5060 car allowance

Hours

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (from site)

Our client is a leading international engineering and construction business that has recently secured a major, long-term civils framework at Sellafield as part of the Infrastructure Delivery Partnership (IDP).

They require an experienced Section Engineer from a civil engineering highways and infrastructure background.

As the programme continues to develop, our client is building a high-calibre project and engineering team to deliver this complex, long-term programme of works within one of the UK’s most important infrastructure environments.

Job Duties

  • Managing engineering delivery for a defined section/package of works
  • Supporting the Site Agent / Sub Agent / Construction Manager
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information
  • Ensuring works are constructed in accordance with the design, specification and programme
  • Producing/reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality records and permits
  • Managing technical queries, RFIs and design changes
  • Coordinating with designers, subcontractors and the wider project team
  • Setting out / checking works and providing technical support to site teams
  • Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays
  • Supporting temporary works and construction methodology
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Maintaining accurate engineering and construction records
  • Participating in design/construction reviews and risk assessments
  • Working within Sellafield's nuclear safety and site procedures

Essential

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or an appropriate engineering discipline
  • Must have or be able to gain security clearance.
  • Previous experience in a site engineering / Section Engineer / Sub Agent role
  • Civil engineering construction experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications
  • Experience with QA, ITPs, inspections and technical documentation
  • Good understanding of construction methods
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines and subcontractors
