Regional Civils is proud to deliver vital infrastructure that improves connectivity and leaves a lasting legacy for local communities, offering the opportunity to work on challenging projects while developing your career with one of the UK's leading infrastructure businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to take the next step in their career while contributing to the successful delivery of major highways schemes throughout the North East.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading complex setting out activities across highways and civil engineering works, ensuring all work is delivered to the required specifications and tolerances.
  • Establishing and maintaining primary setting out control, selecting optimal locations for installation and verification of engineering control points.
  • Coaching and supporting Site Engineers and junior team members in setting out techniques and engineering best practice.
  • Producing and managing Activity Control Plans to ensure works are delivered in line with project quality requirements.
  • Using project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to ensure compliance throughout delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive quality records, ensuring all inspections and documentation are completed and stored correctly.
  • Identifying, raising, and closing out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Technical Queries (TQs), providing practical engineering solutions where required.
  • Producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRAs) to support the safe execution of project activities.
  • Preparing and raising Temporary Works Briefs and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure safe implementation.
  • Delivering visitor inductions and promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across site operations.
  • Supporting incident reporting requirements, including completing accident reports and associated documentation when required.
  • Producing weekly programmes and monitoring progress against project milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Communicating work plans, targets, and priorities to site teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
  • Collating weekly measurement data and monitoring productivity, materials usage, and wastage against budget allowances and project KPIs.
  • Completing labour and plant reconciliations to support accurate project controls and reporting.
  • Identifying additional works, variations, and change requirements, ensuring the appropriate commercial notifications are raised.
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring works are delivered in line with agreed specifications, outputs, and contractual requirements.
  • Supporting the successful delivery of major highways and infrastructure projects by providing technical leadership, quality assurance, and engineering expertise throughout the construction lifecycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
