Role Overview

The role is responsible for the operational engineering leadership to all areas of the section to meet the required performance levels via sustainable improvements in engineering standards and equipment reliability.

You are responsible for developing, maintaining, and continually improving the equipment & maintenance systems and procedures to deliver improved performance across the Section.

The role will be accountable for the Section M&R Budget, controlling costs to achieve optimal Safety, Quality, GE, and Waste performance as well as strong, visible on-the-floor leadership & strategic planning.

Reporting to the Section Lead, the role requires strong relationships with Technical Leads and Shift Technicians & business partnering to the Operations Managers (Cell Leads) for both Crème Egg & Chocolate Making. The role is part of the PM Pillar team for the site.

How You Will Contribute

Safety & Compliance

  • Own and lead the cell's safety programmes — including Equipment Safety, Process Safety, Contractor Safety, Isolation Awareness, Engineering Workshop Management, Permit to Work, and Complex Management — driving the required workflows and improvement plans.
  • Ensure all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements are fulfilled through robust preventive maintenance plans.

Maintenance Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with the Cell Lead and Technical Lead to manage maintenance planning and day-to-day maintenance activities.
  • Develop and continually improve AM and PM schedules through routine review and data-driven refinement.

  • Plan and lead significant maintenance outages, rebuilds, and re-life activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
