Section Manager – HMP Welland Oaks Project
We are looking for a Section Manager to join our team on the HMP Welland Oaks project, supporting the delivery of a major construction programme.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a defined area of works on a high-profile project, leading site activities and working closely with project, commercial and design teams to ensure successful delivery. You'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and programme performance while helping to create a positive and collaborative site environment.
Working within an experienced project team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on a significant scheme while continuing to develop your leadership and delivery expertise.
What You'll Be Doing
- You'll be responsible for managing a section of the works, ensuring activities are planned, coordinated and delivered safely and efficiently.
- Working closely with subcontractors, supply chain partners and site teams, you'll monitor progress, resolve challenges and help keep the project on track.
- You'll support the implementation of programme requirements, drive quality standards and promote a strong health and safety culture across your area.
- You'll also work collaboratively with project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the delivery process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
