Sector Associate – AI & Cyber Security
Covent Garden - Remote
About the role
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within BSI Knowledge Solutions’ Digital Sector team, reporting to the Sector Lead for AI and Cyber Security. The successful candidate will support the development and delivery of BSI’s work in AI and cyber security through research, analysis, stakeholder engagement and programme coordination. Working across industry, government, academia and regulatory communities, they will help monitor emerging technology, policy and standards developments while contributing to initiatives that build confidence in digital systems and responsible innovation.
This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a background in AI, cyber security, digital technologies or a related discipline, strong analytical and organisational skills, and the ability to translate complex technical and policy topics into clear insights and recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Sector Lead in delivering BSI’s AI and Cyber Security activities through research, briefing preparation and coordination.
- Monitor AI, cyber security and digital technology developments, providing clear insights and recommendations.
- Gather and analyse evidence on market trends, policy developments, standards needs and innovation priorities.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships by supporting engagement across industry, government, regulators and academia.
- Coordinate events, workshops and forums, including preparation of materials and follow-up actions.
- Contribute to business cases, proposals and internal papers by conducting research and drafting content.
- Support project and programme delivery through meeting coordination, action tracking and record management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop sector insights, communications materials and stakeholder updates.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in AI, cyber security, data science, computer science, engineering, digital technologies or a related discipline.
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise briefings and recommendations.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, records and follow-up actions effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, demonstrating reliability, responsiveness and the ability to work across teams.
- An interest in AI, cyber security, digital standards, policy and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and develop sector expertise.
- Knowledge of key organisations, stakeholders and policy developments within the AI, cyber security or digital technology landscape.
- Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, workshops, projects or programmes in a professional, academic or research environment.
