Role: Sector Superintendent Radiographer for the Clyde Sector and Royal Hospital for Children

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) employ over 42,000 staff across a wide range of acute, community and primary care services. Diagnostic Imaging is seeking an exceptional and motivated radiography leader to join our Diagnostic Imaging Service as Sector Superintendent Radiographer for the Clyde Sector and Royal Hospital for Children.

This senior leadership position provides strategic, professional and operational leadership for Diagnostic Imaging services, and will play a key role in shaping the future delivery of imaging services whilst supporting the Board's ambitions for excellence in patient care, innovation, workforce development and service transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic and professional leadership for all radiography services within the Clyde Sector and for Royal Hospital for Children.
  • Leading service redesign, transformation and innovation programmes aligned with Board, regional and national objectives.
  • Ensuring robust clinical governance, quality assurance and risk management arrangements are in place.
  • Developing and implementing workforce strategies to support recruitment, retention, succession planning and advanced practice.
  • Managing significant delegated budgets and ensuring effective utilisation of resources.
  • Supporting the delivery of national imaging recovery and modernisation programmes.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites and service areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and professional requirements including HCPC, IR(ME)R 17 and IRR regulations.
  • Working collaboratively with Clinical Directors, General Managers, Heads of Service and regional partners to improve patient pathways and outcomes.
  • Promoting research, innovation, education and service evaluation across Diagnostic Imaging services.

Requirements

  • Qualified Radiographer, i.e., DCR or BSc.
  • Current registration with the HCPC.
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent management training.
  • Demonstrable track record of success in a senior management position.
