Experienced Trader - EMEA Securities Borrowing and Lending
We are seeking an experienced trader to lead our EMEA Securities Borrowing and Lending business in London, with a primary focus on EMEA equities and hard-to-borrow securities while supporting broader Equity Finance activity across the global platform. This role sits within a high-performing global team covering Securities Lending, Repo, and synthetic financing products. You will contribute to business growth by sourcing and distributing inventory, pricing trades, managing risk, and helping develop technology-enabled tools and processes that improve trading efficiency, controls, and scalability.

What You Will Do
Acting as the EMEA regional lead for Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL), supporting the AMER/EMEA Head based in New York, this role is responsible for identifying and executing profitable trading opportunities across securities lending markets, with a primary focus on EMEA equities and hard-to-borrow securities. The individual sources, prices, and distributes inventory across internal desks and external counterparties, while actively managing equity inventory, funding, liquidity, collateral, and balance sheet usage. They monitor and communicate trading risks, market catalysts, and revenue opportunities to key stakeholders, develop and maintain relationships with brokers, custodians, institutional lenders, and other market participants, and contribute to the group's risk management framework by ensuring robust trading practices and operational controls. The role also partners closely with sales, trading, and technology teams to enhance product distribution and client engagement, while supporting process improvement, automation, and AI-driven workflow initiatives.

What You Offer
- 5+ years’ securities lending trading experience ideally with exposure to other Delta1 adjacent products
- Strong understanding of equity finance/derivative structures and products;
- Python or similar coding experience strongly preferred, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to design, enhance, or automate trading tools
- Demonstrated experience using AI-driven tools, analytics, or automation to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, or enhance operational efficiency is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate risk versus reward in decision-making, with a strong risk mindset and sound judgement
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Experience interacting with clients, brokers, custodians, institutional lenders, or other external counterparties
- Entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to engage with operational detail, and ability to challenge the status quo to improve processes and controls
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline
