Job Description:
As part of the Equity Technology team, an opportunity exists for a consultant developer to join the small Securities Finance team to deliver functionality to support the UK/EU T+1 Regulatory initiative.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Development of the core in-house platforms.
- Build distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications leveraging Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies.
- Integrate with messaging systems and caching solutions for real-time processing.
- Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
- Own specific projects or issues from start to finish.
- Work with colleagues and management to ensure appropriate prioritization.
- Unit testing, assisting with user testing, and working closely with the release management team.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Deep expertise developing Java-based enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong SQL knowledge, preferably MS SQL Server and/or MySQL.
- Experience with Redis caching, and messaging systems such as Kafka, MQ, SQS, and SNS.
- Understanding of Securities Lending is desirable, preferably with prior experience in this or a related area, e.g., Equity swaps.
- Proficiency in leveraging GitHub Copilot or Claude for productivity gains and to improve code quality.
