This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for a Securities Finance Sales Trader within Santander Corporate & Investment Banking. The role involves originating and executing securities finance transactions, including equity lending and borrowing, with institutional clients such as asset managers, hedge funds, and banks. Day-to-day activities include:

- Monitoring markets
- Managing client portfolios
- Pricing trades
- Optimizing inventory and collateral usage in line with risk and return objectives
The Securities Finance Sales Trader will maintain and deepen client relationships, prepare trade ideas, respond to client inquiries, and coordinate with trading, risk, operations, and compliance teams to ensure accurate trade booking and settlement. The role also includes contributing to product development, following regulatory changes, and supporting the growth of the securities finance franchise in the UK and globally.
Qualifications
- Strong trading and securities finance execution skills, including experience with equity lending and borrowing.
- Robust analytical skills for pricing, risk assessment, and portfolio optimization.
- Solid understanding of investments and financial markets, particularly in equities and related products.
- Academic background in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are an advantage.
- Proficiency with trading systems, market data tools, and Excel; familiarity with risk management and collateral systems is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with institutional clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, make sound decisions, and adhere to regulatory and compliance standards.
- Prior experience in securities finance, equity finance, prime services, or related capital markets roles is a requirement.
