Securities Issuance and Funding Operations

London

We have an exciting opportunity to work with one of our prestigious clients, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, as part of their Securities Issuance & Funding Operations. This role is responsible for supporting and overseeing the end-to-end operational lifecycle of debt issuance transactions, structured funding programmes, and special purpose vehicle (SPV) activities. The role ensures accurate execution of issuance, settlement, lifecycle events, reconciliations, and regulatory obligations while maintaining a robust control environment and driving operational efficiency.

The incumbent will collaborate extensively with Treasury, Front Office, Finance, Legal, Corporate Services, Trustees, Paying Agents, Custodians, Depositories, and other external service providers to ensure seamless execution of securities issuance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Securities Issuance Support

  • Manage operational activities relating to debt issuance transactions, including bonds, notes, structured securities, and funding programmes.
  • Support new issuances from transaction approval through settlement and post-launch servicing.
  • Review issuance documentation and validate key economic terms against internal booking and settlement systems.
  • Coordinate issuance events with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Ensure securities are accurately established within internal platforms and market infrastructure systems.

SPV & Funding Vehicle Administration

  • Support operational processes related to SPV-issued securities and structured funding programmes.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Treasury, Corporate Services, and external administrators regarding SPV activities and governance requirements.
  • Maintain records of outstanding issuance programmes and associated obligations.
  • Monitor lifecycle events impacting issuer entities, SPVs, and related funding structures.

Security Lifecycle Management

  • Support coupon payments, interest calculations, redemption processing, and maturity events.
  • Manage early redemption, call, put, conversion, and maturity activities where applicable.
  • Coordinate amendments to issuance terms and security reference data.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of corporate actions affecting debt securities.
  • Reconcile outstanding issuance balances and investigate discrepancies.

Cash, Settlement & Reconciliations

  • Oversee settlement of securities issuance proceeds and related cash movements.
  • Monitor interactions with clearing systems, custodians, paying agents, central securities depositories, and settlement counterparts.
  • Investigate settlement exceptions, fail trades, and reconciliation breaks.
  • Perform regular balance sheet, cash, and position reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a key operational contact for Front Office, Treasury, Finance, and Risk partners.
  • Liaise with Legal, Trustees, Paying Agents, Depositories, Custodians, and external counterparties regarding issuance and lifecycle events.
  • Support internal audits, external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Produce management information (MI), operational metrics, and reporting related to issuance activities and outstanding programmes.

Controls, Risk & Governance

  • Maintain a strong control framework across issuance, settlement, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Identify operational risks, process inefficiencies, and control gaps.
  • Lead root cause analysis and remediation efforts for operational incidents and exceptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Support regulatory and market infrastructure changes impacting securities issuance and funding operations.

Essential

  • Proven experience in Securities Operations, Capital Markets Operations, Funding Operations, Debt Issuance, or Structured Products Operations.
  • Strong understanding of debt capital markets products, including bonds, notes, MTN programmes, and structured securities.
  • Knowledge of securities settlement processes, clearing systems, custodians, and depositories.
  • Experience managing operational lifecycle events such as coupon payments, redemptions, and corporate actions.
  • Strong reconciliation and exception management capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting SPVs, structured funding vehicles, or treasury funding programmes.
  • Familiarity with market infrastructures such as Euroclear, Clearstream, DTCC, or local CSDs.
  • Experience with automation, process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or operational transformation initiatives.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements impacting capital markets and funding operations.

This is a 6 months fixed term position located in London with hybrid working. Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients' offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients' policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require. However, some of our clients have now moved up to 4 days and even 5 days in the office and we require candidates to be flexible to meet our client demands.
