Data Security Analyst (DLP Specialist)

6 months - £480 Inside IR35

Hybrid 2 days (London, Portsmouth, Edinburgh or Glasgow)

Active SC Clearance ESSENTIAL

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Security Analyst with a strong specialism in Data Loss Prevention (DLP). This position would suit someone who is experienced communicating with technical, non-technical and exec leadership to help to define and explain DLP policies and controls.

The successful candidate will review, improve and implement DLP controls and policies across the organisation. This will include identifying weaknesses in the existing environment, recommending improvements and helping to develop a more mature and effective DLP capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and optimise DLP policies and controls.
  • Review existing DLP capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assess weaknesses and recommend practical solutions.
  • Provide consultative guidance on DLP best practices.
  • Help shape the organisation’s wider data security and DLP strategy.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience working as a DLP Specialist or Data Security Analyst.
  • Strong knowledge of DLP technologies, controls, policies and governance frameworks.
  • Experience reviewing and improving an existing DLP environment.
  • A background in data protection, cybersecurity, compliance or Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
  • Experience working within a broad security environment while maintaining DLP as a core specialism.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and implement security improvements across multiple business areas.

Technical Experience (2/3 required)

Candidates should have hands-on experience with DLP technologies, ideally including:

  • Microsoft Purview
  • Palo Alto Prisma
  • Fortra
