Location: Tyne Dock, South Shields
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Starting Salary: £19,500

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining effective security arrangements, including pass security and personal/vehicle searches, in line with the ISPS Code and other statutory regulations
  • Help operate gates, barriers, traffic control, and other access controls
  • Complete records, log sheets, and search forms, and report any deficiencies, events, or incidents
  • Support the investigation and reporting of incidents when requested
  • Carry out foot and mobile patrols, CCTV surveillance, and gatehouse duties
  • Assist with administering the vehicle ID and permit system, including producing security passes
  • Deal with visitors and general enquiries professionally, communicating company policies and procedures
  • Carry out day-to-day equipment checks, fault reporting, and logging
  • Support general housekeeping in and around the security gates/office
  • Take part in safety and security drills, exercises, and training, including staff familiarisation
  • Help respond to incidents and emergencies, including calling out relevant staff and emergency services
  • Support the evacuation of the Tyne Dock estate in the event of fire or terrorist threat
  • Support the Marine Department with planning vessel movements and berthing/un-berthing
