Solution Architect – Microsoft Security – Manchester (1/2 times a week) - £80,000-£90,000
We're looking for an experienced Microsoft Security Architect to join our client's growing cybersecurity team within their managed services division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about designing, Microsoft's security technologies to help protect modern cloud-first environments.
You'll play a key role in strengthening our client's security posture by working with customers to design elements of the Microsoft Security stack and driving security best practices across multiple technology streams. This position requires someone who is familiar with managed services and the importance of building customer relationships/managing those relationships through the architecture process.
Technology:
Broad across the Microsoft Security stack, but if had to choose, the 3 key elements would be Purview, Defender for Cloud Apps and Entra.
Role:
- Lead the architecture and design of Microsoft Purview solutions covering data governance, information protection, compliance and information lifecycle management.
- Design solutions around Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP), sensitivity labels, retention, records management, data classification and insider risk.
- Work with customers to understand their data landscape, regulatory obligations, security requirements and information governance challenges.
- Lead customer workshops and technical discovery sessions to establish requirements and develop appropriate Microsoft security and compliance strategies.
- Create high-level and detailed solution designs, architecture diagrams, data-flow diagrams and technical documentation.
- Design and architect wider Microsoft security solutions incorporating Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, working closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented in line with the agreed architecture.
- Conduct security, compliance and information governance assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience designing Microsoft Security based technology solutions – Purview is essential.
- Experience working with Microsoft security, Purview, Defender for Cloud Apps, Entra, data governance, information protection, compliance and information lifecycle management.
- Strong hands-on and architectural experience with Microsoft Purview and other Security technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing Purview capabilities including data classification, sensitivity labels, retention policies, DLP, records management, information governance and compliance solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel.
- A strong understanding of information security, data protection and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST and GDPR.

- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate (SC-401)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
