Security Assistant
Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel is looking for a professional, calm, and reliable Security Assistant to join our team.
This is an important role within the hotel, helping to protect our guests, team members, building, and assets while maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at all times. We are looking for someone who is observant, confident in dealing with incidents, and able to remain calm under pressure.
This role offers flexibility and will involve shifts based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol all areas of the hotel and report any unusual activity, safety concerns, or security risks
- Help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and team members
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and fire life safety systems, responding appropriately when needed
- Respond quickly and professionally to emergency and non-emergency incidents
- Support with evacuations, fire alarms, accidents, disturbances, and other emergency situations
- Handle guest and colleague concerns in a calm, professional, and respectful manner
- Assist with incident management, including completing reports and maintaining accurate records
- Report safety hazards, security breaches, and policy violations to the relevant manager
- Support with access control, staff entrance procedures, bag checks, and key control procedures where applicable
- Escort unwelcome or suspicious individuals from the property when required, following hotel procedures
- Work closely with other departments to support the smooth and safe operation of the hotel
- Provide a visible and reassuring presence across the property
- Deliver a professional and courteous approach at all times, while maintaining confidentiality

What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a security, loss prevention, or similar role
- Hotel experience would be an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure
- Good conflict management and problem-solving skills
- A professional, trustworthy, and reliable approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and strong observation skills
- Confidence in handling incidents, reporting concerns, and following procedures
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- A valid SIA licence would be an advantage
