Security Assurance Lead (SC) - Contract - Hybrid working/London - £competitive
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Security Assurance Lead to work at a leading consultancy client on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will work as part of a high-profile public sector technology programme, and will provide independent security assurance across programme workstreams, projects and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Review and challenge security products, designs artefacts, architectures and implementation approaches developed by programme workstreams and suppliers, ensuring adherence to secure by design and secure by default principles.
- Collaborate with programme workstreams and suppliers to ensure security risks associated with proposed solutions and deliverables are appropriately identified, assessed, treated, escalated and managed accordingly.
- Take responsibility for providing clear and pragmatic security advice which balances risk, operational needs and delivery objectives.
- Review significant security incidents and support "lessons learned" activities.
- Assess compliance with programme security policies and standards, government standards (including Secure by Design, NCSC etc.) and industry best practice.
- Provide assurance over incident management processes and response capabilities.
- Give support to security accreditation activities by presenting assurance findings.

Experience required:
- A significant and proven background as a Security Assurance Lead/Manager or Accreditor within the telecommunications, mobile network or public sector.
- Thorough knowledge of government security policies and standards and frameworks including secure-by design, NCSC and practical experience of applying these in the context of technology delivery or assurance.
- Experience working within large, complex programmes involving multiple suppliers and stakeholders.
- Experience conducting security assessments, reviews and audits.
- Experience reviewing technical security architectures and designs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to present clear and timely assurance findings.

It would be desirable for candidates to have:
- A background in telecommunications, or having worked in telecoms projects which relate to 4G/5G/Wireless networks.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, identity security, encryption, SIEM, SOC integration, and network segmentation.
- Desirable certifications held, including those in TOGAF, SABSA, CCP, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CRISC, ISO27001 Lead Auditor / Implementer, NIST Cyber Security Practitioner or equivalent relevant practitioner-level security certifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
