Security Assurance Lead (SC Cleared)
📍 London or Bristol – Hybrid
💰 Up to £600 per day – Inside IR35
🏢 2 days per week on-site
🔐 Active SC clearance required
We are looking for an experienced Security Assurance Lead or Security Assurance Manager to support a large-scale government telecommunications programme.
You will provide independent security assurance across multiple programme workstreams, suppliers and technical delivery teams, ensuring solutions meet government security standards and secure-by-design principles.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviewing and challenging security architectures, technical designs and implementation approaches
- Assessing compliance against NCSC guidance, Secure by Design, HMG security policies and programme standards
- Identifying, assessing and escalating security risks across complex technology deliveries
- Supporting accreditation, authority-to-operate and programme release-gate activities
- Producing Security Assurance Reports, Risk Balance Cases and senior-level risk escalations
- Conducting supplier and third-party security assurance reviews
- Providing assurance over incident management, vulnerabilities and remediation activity
- Presenting clear, evidence-based findings to senior government, technical and programme stakeholders

Required experience:
- Previous experience as a Security Assurance Lead, Security Assurance Manager or Accreditor
- Background within telecommunications, mobile networks, government or the wider public sector
- Strong knowledge of NCSC guidance, government security standards and secure-by-design principles
- Experience providing independent assurance and constructive challenge across major programmes
- Strong technical understanding of security architectures and solution designs
- Experience working with multiple suppliers and senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate at approximately SFIA Level 5

Knowledge of 4G/5G networks, RAN, IMS, OSS/BSS, NFV/SDN, Zero Trust, SIEM, SOC integration or network segmentation would be particularly valuable.
Certifications such as CCP, PraCSP, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, SABSA, TOGAF or ISO 27001 would also be advantageous.
