Role Description
The Security Cleared Data Installer will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and commissioning structured cabling and data network infrastructure in line with company standards and client specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, routing and securing cables, installing network cabinets and outlets, conducting quality checks, and completing accurate installation documentation. The role also involves working closely with project managers and site supervisors, adhering to security protocols, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Buckingham, requiring regular work on customer premises and secure environments.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in data cabling installation, including cable pulling, termination, and testing of copper and/or fiber infrastructure.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure components such as patch panels, racks, cabinets, outlets, and cable management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and method statements, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Solid understanding of industry standards and best practices for structured cabling, including labeling, routing, and quality assurance.
- Valid security clearance (or eligibility to obtain and maintain clearance) suitable for working in secure and sensitive environments.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements, including safe use of tools, ladders, and equipment, and working to site-specific procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary on-site team, including contractors and client representatives.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to client sites within the region as project needs require.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., structured cabling, fibre optics, or related vendor-specific training) are advantageous.
- Previous experience in networking, telecommunications, or data centre environments is beneficial.
