Security & Compliance Specialist
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office. Tues & Weds)
Team: Customer Experience - Security & Compliance
Reports to: Security & Compliance Team Leader
As a key member of Rightmove’s Security and Compliance Team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the integrity and trustworthiness of our platform. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring, responding to, and investigating fraudulent activities that impact Rightmove, our partners, and consumers. Additionally, you will be the frontline support for GDPR-related requests, such as Subject Access Requests, Right to be Forgotten requests, and Unsubscribe requests.
You will also be instrumental in ensuring that new customers and existing members adhere to industry standards and Rightmove’s terms and conditions. This includes conducting compliance and security vetting for all new joiners, as well as reviewing and cross-referencing members expelled from compliance schemes. Collaboration with our Legal team will be essential to maintain Rightmove’s reputation as a trusted resource for home movers and estate agents.
What you’ll be doing
- Monitoring the Fraud Report to identify potential fraudulent activity;
- Monitoring our Fraud and DPO inboxes;
- Monitoring our image alert channel to ensure no personal or sensitive data has been uploaded to our site;
- Investigating reports of fraud from our partners, consumers, and other Rightmovers;
- Reporting confirmed cases of Fraud and Data Breaches to the necessary Regulatory bodies (where appropriate);
- Investigating, recording, and reporting Data Breaches within deadlines set by the ICO;
- Completing data requests from consumers, partners, and Rightmovers to ensure we remain GDPR compliant;
- You’ll be the first point of call for sometimes difficult conversations which could be as a result of us removing a compromised branch or locking user accounts;
- Suggesting areas for improvement. Working alongside the Security and Compliance Team Leader, you’ll suggest ways to improve existing processes striving for the best service for our partners, consumers, and Rightmovers alike;
- Sharing responsibility of monitoring our DPO and Fraud inboxes, as well as the Fraud Report, outside of working hours and responding to urgent incidents efficiently and effectively.

Who you are
- Accurate and methodical with high standards, an excellent eye for detail.
- A clear and effective communicator in both written and verbal form, who is confident in speaking to different people internally and within our partners' business.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize and manage your day self-sufficiently, often spinning multiple plates.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a calm manner.
- Empathetic and caring towards customer needs and expectations, believes ‘good enough is never good enough’ and understands how you contribute to Rightmove.
- An excellent team player, loyal, reliable, and punctual.

What you’ll bring to the role
