About the Company

Security Consultant

Location: London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh or Belfast (Hybrid Working)

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance required

About the Role

Due to continued growth across its cyber security practice, the organisation is seeking experienced Security Consultants to support a wide range of transformation programmes across public and private sector clients. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, business-critical initiatives, helping organisations design and implement secure solutions that enable innovation while managing risk.

The role would suit an experienced security professional who enjoys working across multiple client environments, engaging with senior stakeholders, and helping shape security strategies across complex technology landscapes.


Responsibilities

Location & Security Requirements

  • Candidates must be based in, or able to commute to London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, or Belfast, as regular attendance at client sites and company offices will form part of the hybrid working arrangement.
  • Due to the nature of the work, applicants must either hold active UK Security Clearance (SC) or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
  • To be eligible, candidates must typically have the right to work in the UK and meet relevant UK Government security vetting requirements, including the required residency criteria.

The Role

As a Security Consultant, you will support clients in defining and delivering secure technology solutions across a variety of programmes and initiatives. Working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and programme leadership, you will help ensure security is embedded throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of end-to-end security solutions across programmes, projects, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Contribute to conceptual, logical, and implementation-level security designs.
  • Apply security principles, frameworks, and best practices to complex technology environments.
  • Assess security risks and provide appropriate recommendations and mitigation strategies.
  • Review existing client environments and identify opportunities to strengthen security posture.
  • Support large-scale infrastructure, cloud, integration, and digital transformation programmes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary delivery teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Facilitate workshops and engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to governance, assurance, and security review activities.
  • Provide trusted security advice throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

Relevant Certifications

Candidates should hold one or more of the following, or equivalent certifications:

  • CISSP
  • CISM
  • SABSA
  • TOGAF
  • IISP / CCP
  • Cloud Security Certifications
  • Security Architecture Certifications

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Strong background in Information Security.
  • Experience supporting security initiatives across large-scale infrastructure, integration, or transformation programmes.
  • Ability to communicate security concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience balancing security requirements with business objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working within fast-paced consulting or project delivery environments.
