Security Consulting Manager

Location: London, UK (With Client Travel)

Career Level: Manager

Salary: Competitive Salary & Package (Dependent on Experience)

About the Role

As a Manager in the Accenture Cybersecurity Financial Services team, you will be responsible for leading cybersecurity engagements for some of the world's largest insurers, banks, and capital markets organisations. You will combine technical, commercial, regulatory, and industry expertise to help clients address complex cyber risk, resilience, and transformation challenges, while supporting the growth of Accenture's Cybersecurity business.

We are particularly looking for candidates with extensive experience working within or consulting to the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will understand the business, regulatory landscape, and culture of the sector. They will apply cybersecurity expertise in the context of insurance operations and ways of working within the industry. Additionally, they will bring with them a network of cybersecurity contacts working in insurance, to support with regular industry and client insights.

In this role, you will oversee project delivery, build trusted client relationships, and develop new opportunities across existing and prospective accounts. You will act as the bridge between the client, account leadership, and Accenture's network of cybersecurity specialists. You will also be a key part of building the insurance capability for Accenture Cybersecurity through industry thought leadership for our clients, and through origination of new opportunities.

Client Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity engagements within financial services organisations, managing scope, timelines, budgets, quality, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to client stakeholders, building relationships across business, technology, risk, and security functions.
  • Conduct cybersecurity strategy assessments, operating model reviews, control evaluations, and transformation planning activities.
  • Support clients in addressing regulatory requirements and industry expectations relating to cyber resilience, operational resilience, third-party risk, data protection, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify and articulate risks at business, technology, and programme levels, developing practical and commercially viable remediation strategies.

Technical Expertise

  • Assess and enhance cybersecurity capabilities across a broad set of domains including IAM, cloud security, cyber resilience, security operations, AI security, application security, and third-party risk management.
  • Design target-state security capabilities, operating models, governance frameworks, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Develop security control frameworks aligned to recognised industry standards and regulatory expectations, including NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, NIS2, DORA, PRA, FCA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Produce high-quality client deliverables including maturity assessments, roadmaps, operating models, business cases, risk assessments, and executive presentations.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging threats, regulatory developments, and innovations impacting the financial services sector.

Commercial & Business Development

  • Identify and develop opportunities within existing client accounts and build relationships with prospective clients.
  • Support sales pursuits, proposal development, RFP responses, and commercial discussions.
  • Contribute to account planning, pipeline development, and revenue growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with industry, alliance, and technology teams to develop differentiated security offerings for the Insurance & Financial Services market.

People Leadership & Growth

  • Lead, coach, and develop teams of cybersecurity consultants across Analyst, Consultant, Associate Manager, and Manager grades.
  • Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and constructive performance feedback to support career development.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, asset development, recruitment, training, and community initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity for financial services, security transformation, risk management, technology advisory, or related fields.
  • Experience delivering complex cybersecurity engagements for financial services organisations, including banks, insurers, asset managers, or market infrastructure providers.
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulatory requirements and industry frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage senior client stakeholders.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, cloud security certifications) are desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
