Security Controller

Permanent

Location: Exchange House, 12 Primrose Street, London

Hours: 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, day & night 07:00 to 19:00 & 19:00 to 07:00

Pay: £16.09

Join Our Team as a Security Controller

As a Security Controller, you will bring excellent customer service, have a super smart personal presentation, and be entrusted to protect premises, ensuring a safe working environment for visitors, staff, and contractors. You are required to have a highly visible presence in a fantastic working culture and prevent any illegal or inappropriate activities that might arise. In addition to playing an active role in incident response, your goal will be to detect, deter, and protect in a professional and confident manner. We would love to hear from you!

About The Role

As a Security Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide immediate support to Estate and Building Teams to mitigate risk.
  • Trust your instinct and report anything suspicious, out of the ordinary, or unusual.
  • Be aware of contractor movement, aware of work permits, including lone worker supervision.
  • Manage control room-based keys and assets such as radios and equipment with MyTag.
  • Ensure all lone workers are monitored and managed thoroughly throughout their shift.
  • Provide accurate and timely early warning of risks, assets, and people.
  • Proactively work with and for Property Managers and their teams in support of Broadgate.
  • Control the interface between Property Management (Broadgate) and retailers and contractors.

What We Are Looking For

  • SIA CCTV licence
  • SIA DS licence
  • Excellent customer engagement skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with security surveillance and access control systems.
  • High level of attention to detail, timekeeping, and ability to prioritize time effectively.
  • An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to security staff.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
  • Demonstrate reliability, including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance.
  • Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from staff and management team.
  • Be trained at all building control rooms to ensure best practice and resilience is maintained.
  • Deal with visitors to the security control room, providing them with a personal service and guidance.
  • Strong data inputting and administration skills.
  • Demonstrate proven negotiation, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience in dealing with multiple issues at once, prioritizing and resolving problems.
  • Experience in critical asset, crisis, and incident management.
