Job Description

About this role

As a Security Specialist, you'll be part of a wider team delivering critical security solutions for our banking customers. Working closely with customers daily, you'll translate business and technical requirements into high-quality designs and successful implementations, while remaining mindful of security strategy, governance, risk, and compliance objectives.

You'll combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, helping customers navigate complex security challenges and delivering solutions that protect their most critical assets.

There's nothing quite like seeing a world-class security design come together—from initial concept through to implementation—before successfully handing over to our Delivery and Operational teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical security leadership and oversight across a strategic banking customer contract, ensuring services and solutions remain aligned to contractual security obligations, governance requirements, and customer security strategy.
  • Act as the security design and implementation authority for complex security solutions and platform architectures. Lead customer workshops to capture business and technical requirements, translate these into robust security designs, and identify the supporting documentation required to underpin successful delivery.
  • Produce and maintain High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), security processes, operational procedures, standards, and local work instructions, ensuring alignment to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and customer security controls.
  • Establish a strong onsite presence with the customer, building trusted relationships with technical, operational, and leadership stakeholders while providing expert security guidance and technical leadership.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their threat landscape, risk profile, regulatory obligations, and strategic objectives, ensuring security solutions address both current and emerging challenges.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
