Security Data & Platform Engineer
Location: London - 4 days in office
Salary: Highly competitive + annual discretionary bonus + excellent benefits
I'm supporting a leading quantitative technology firm that's looking to hire a Security Data & Platform Engineer to join its growing Security Engineering team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who combines deep Elastic Security expertise with a strong engineering mindset. You'll become the technical authority for security telemetry, owning the data pipelines and platform that power monitoring, threat hunting and incident response across a complex engineering environment.

The role
You'll lead the evolution of the security data platform, working across cloud, endpoint, network and SaaS environments while partnering with Platform Engineering, SOC and Detection Engineering teams to improve the quality, reliability and scalability of security data.
Key responsibilities
- Own the security data platform within Elastic Security
- Build and optimise scalable telemetry pipelines
- Improve data quality, normalisation and performance
- Automate operational workflows using Python or Bash
- Develop Infrastructure as Code and configuration as code practices
- Drive long-term improvements to the security data strategy
- Work closely with Platform, Cloud, SOC and Detection Engineering teams

What we're looking for
- Strong Elastic Stack experience
- Logstash, Beats, Kafka or similar technologies
- Security telemetry and log ingestion expertise
- Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, GCP or hybrid environments
- Python or Bash scripting
- Strong understanding of security data architecture and platform engineering
