The Tech Recruiter is hiring a Security Engineer for a fast-growing, engineering-led technology business in Glasgow.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and improving the technology behind modern Security Operations. You’ll work on everything from SOAR automation and security integrations to cloud infrastructure, APIs and tooling.
Tech you’ll work with: AWS | Terraform | Python | GitHub | Elastic | SOAR | SIEM | EDR | APIs | CI/CD
What you’ll be doing:
- Building SOAR playbooks, automation and orchestration
- Integrating security platforms to streamline SOC workflows
- Developing scripts, APIs and custom security tooling
- Building monitoring, alerting and platform health checks
- Improving the security and resilience of cloud infrastructure
- Automating repetitive SOC processes and reducing manual workload
- Working with security operations teams to turn technical challenges into scalable solutions

What we’re looking for:
- Understanding of SOC operations and incident response
- Experience with security technologies such as SIEM and EDR
- Scripting/programming skills across Python, React or Go
- Understanding of cloud-native/serverless architecture
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD
- A curious, engineering-focused mindset with a passion for automation and continuous improvement
Experience with AWS, Terraform, Elastic Security, vendor APIs, PostgreSQL/NoSQL or a background across Security Engineering, SOC, DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering would be particularly attractive but not essential. What is more important is someone who has a passion for engineering and continually looking to improve. The role will be office based in Glasgow 2/3 days per week.
