Security Engineer | Global Investment Manager | [Location]
A global, long-term investment management firm with a strong reputation and a growing technology investment is hiring a hands-on Security Engineer. The firm treats technology as a real source of investment edge and is modernising its core platform, data and AI capability. This role sits in a small, high-impact Security Engineering & Operations team with real ownership and autonomy.
The Role
- Own and operate the SIEM platform: log onboarding, alert tuning, dashboards and resilience
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex security incidents, from triage to post-incident review
- Build and tune detection content based on threat intelligence and emerging threats
- Strengthen endpoint, identity, data protection and AWS security controls
- Drive vulnerability management and remediation with Infrastructure teams
- Automate security workflows using scripting and AI-assisted tooling

What We're Looking For
- Hands-on security engineering or operations experience in an enterprise environment
- Strong Splunk experience (administration, SPL, alerting)
- Experience with Microsoft security tooling (Defender, Intune, Purview or equivalent) and vulnerability management platforms
- Proven incident response experience, including running IR playbooks
- Scripting in Python, PowerShell or Terraform
- Clear communicator who can explain technical risk to non-technical stakeholders
