Security Engineer – Contract
£550 per day | 12-month contract | Hybrid | 3 days onsite
We are currently looking for Security Engineers to join a major security-focused programme on a 12-month contract, with 2 positions available. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Engineer to work across security operations, detection and response engineering, threat hunting and security automation within a collaborative, enterprise environment.
The role
As a Security Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of security capabilities, helping to strengthen detection, response and security monitoring across the organisation. You will work closely with security, engineering and wider technology teams to develop effective security solutions, integrate security telemetry and automate security processes.
Key responsibilities & experience
We are looking for experience across a number of the following areas:
- SIEM Engineering – designing, developing and maintaining SIEM capabilities.
- Detection Engineering – developing and tuning security detections and rules.
- Response Engineering – improving and developing security incident response capabilities.
- Threat Hunting – proactively identifying suspicious activity, threats and attack patterns.
- Security Telemetry Integration – integrating and leveraging security data and telemetry from multiple sources.
- SOAR Automation – developing security orchestration and automated response workflows.
- Secure CI/CD Pipelines – embedding security into development and deployment processes.
- Strong understanding of modern cybersecurity principles, security monitoring and operational security.
- Ability to investigate complex security problems and develop practical technical solutions.
- Experience working collaboratively with security, engineering and wider technology teams.

The successful candidate will have:
- Strong experience in Security Engineering / Cybersecurity.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Experience working across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving security challenges.
- Strong professionalism, integrity and accountability.
- Adaptability and resilience, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- The ability to build strong professional relationships with technical and business stakeholders.

- Rate: £550 per day

- Contract: Contractor / Inside IR35
