Role Description
This contract Security Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some work from home flexibility. The Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security solutions across applications, networks, and systems, aligned with Telcam’s security and safety product portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include assessing security requirements, configuring fire, intruder, access control, and CCTV security systems, performing security reviews and risk assessments, and troubleshooting security-related issues. The role also involves monitoring and improving cybersecurity posture, documenting technical configurations, collaborating with internal teams and clients, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices. The Security Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of Telcam’s security engineering processes and support incident response activities when required.

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Security Engineering and Information Security, including secure system design and implementation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security and Cybersecurity, including network hardening, secure configuration, and threat mitigation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including secure coding practices, vulnerability assessment, and remediation.
- Experience with security systems such as access control, fire and intruder alarms, and CCTV solutions in commercial or residential environments.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, Cyber Essentials, NSI or similar security industry certifications) is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and liaise with clients and colleagues.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or vendor-specific security certifications) or equivalent practical experience are an advantage.
- Valid right to work in the UK and willingness to travel within the London Area and to client sites as required.
