🔐 Security Engineer – Cloud & Microsoft Security
📍 London | Hybrid
💰 £60,000 – £80,000

I’m currently working with a well-established organisation looking to add a Security Engineer to its growing Technology function.
This is a hands-on role working across a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment, with exposure across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints, infrastructure and security operations.
It would be a great opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in Cyber Security who wants to continue developing technically across Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Azure Security, Entra ID, vulnerability management and incident response.
What you'll be doing:
- Investigating security alerts and incidents across cloud, identity, endpoint and infrastructure environments
- Working with Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR for monitoring, detection and investigation
- Supporting security across Azure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Investigating suspicious activity, malware, identity threats and potential compromise
- Supporting incident containment, remediation and recovery
- Identifying and helping remediate cloud security misconfigurations and vulnerabilities
- Working across Conditional Access, MFA, privileged access and identity security
- Supporting vulnerability and security posture management
- Working closely with internal Infrastructure, Cloud, Network and Cyber Security teams, alongside external SOC/MSSP partners
- Supporting the implementation of Zero Trust, least privilege and secure-by-default principles
- Getting involved in security automation across areas such as PowerShell, KQL, Microsoft Graph and Logic Apps

What we're looking for:
You'll ideally have around 3–6 years' experience within Cyber Security, Security Operations, Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security or a similar hands-on technical role.

You don't need to be an expert across everything. We're particularly interested in people with good technical foundations and experience across several of the following:

The role offers plenty of opportunity to develop technically, take ownership of increasingly complex security work and progress towards a more senior Security Engineering position.
