Security Engineer (Detection) London / WFH
to £100k
Are you a technologist Security Engineer with a strong understanding of detection engineering?
You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on role at a tech driven, global Asset Manager with multiple billions of dollars under management.
As a Security Engineer you'll investigate and triage security alerts, including those generated through AI driven security tooling, while bringing the L3 level experience needed to handle complex incidents and identify opportunities to improve detection and response.
A major focus will be building and maturing the organisation's detection engineering capability, developing effective detection approaches and aligning them with appropriate security frameworks. Over time, you'll also contribute to initiatives including additional log sources, Microsoft 365 DLP policies, Network Access Control and wider Information Security projects aligned to frameworks such as NIST.

You'll also help to drive a shift-left approach to security, working with development teams to improve security earlier in the software development lifecycle. While the role is predominantly technical, you'll need the breadth and communication skills to contribute across the wider security function.
Location / WFH
There's a hybrid work from home policy with 2-3 days in the London office per week where you'll join a supportive, diverse team environment with a large range of facilities.
About you
- You're a security engineer with strong L3 exposure
- You have strong technical fundamentals and a genuine interest in automation, detection and security engineering
- You understand how detection works and are comfortable solving unfamiliar problems and can pick up new technologies quickly
- You have a good knowledge of both Windows and Linux OS
- You can script with Python, Terraform, PowerShell or similar and believe in automation
- You're collaborative with great communication and problem solving skills
- You're degree educated, having achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university in a STEM discipline
