Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

This role supports security engineering across the Hosting Landing Zone platform, helping ensure vulnerabilities, patching requirements, and security controls are effectively assessed, prioritized, and addressed. Key responsibilities include vulnerability management using tools such as Qualys and platform telemetry, coordinating infrastructure patching while maintaining service stability, and using Microsoft Sentinel and wider SIEM capabilities for security monitoring, alert review, event triage, and operational response.

The role also involves investigating and coordinating responses to security events, working closely with Cyber Security, Security & Risk, and platform engineering teams to assess new requirements and deliver agreed actions. In addition, it supports security documentation, reporting, and audit evidence while developing security engineering expertise and promoting secure working practices, continuous improvement, and a proactive approach to reducing operational and security risk.

About You

As a minimum requirement, you’ll have:

• You may already be working in an infrastructure, platform, operations, or security-related role and be looking to build deeper experience in security engineering within a complex enterprise platform environment.
• You’ll have a good understanding of infrastructure technologies such as virtualization, compute, networking, and storage, and an interest in how security controls are applied across those areas.
• You’ll be comfortable working with operational processes, incidents, changes, risk actions, or remediation plans and able to follow through on agreed actions with good attention to detail.
• Experience of vulnerability management, patching, SIEM tooling, Microsoft Sentinel, Qualys, or security event processes would be helpful, but a willingness to learn and apply these skills is just as important.
• You’ll be able to communicate clearly with colleagues across platform engineering, Cyber Security, Security & Risk, and operational teams, asking questions where needed and keeping others informed of progress.
• You’ll be self-motivated, organized, and comfortable balancing delivery, learning, governance, and service stability in a regulated environment.
• You’ll bring curiosity, a positive attitude, and a desire to develop your career by contributing to meaningful security and resilience outcomes for the platform.
