Security Engineer
Locations: London, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000
We're supporting a leading global technology consultancy as they continue to grow their Security Engineering practice.
Their Engineering community brings together industry-leading specialists across Security Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering, and Quality Engineering, solving highly complex technology challenges for some of the world's largest organisations.
As a Security Engineer, you'll join a growing security team working across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You'll play a key role in protecting client systems, applications, and data by designing, implementing, and improving security solutions while helping organisations stay ahead of an evolving threat landscape.
This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys working with modern technologies, solving complex problems, and collaborating with engineering teams to embed security best practices.

What you'll be working on:
- Designing, implementing, and managing security solutions across client environments
- Supporting security tooling for threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring
- Partnering with engineering and security teams to embed secure development practices
- Automating security processes, including SIEM integrations and log ingestion
- Supporting firewall and network security management across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments
- Developing security policies, standards, and procedures
- Conducting infrastructure security assessments using tools and frameworks such as CIS benchmarks
- Helping clients improve their security posture through proactive security engineering
What they're looking for:
- Experience in security engineering, cloud security, or platform security
- Strong understanding of security fundamentals including:
- Networking
- Cloud security
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code
- Virtualisation
- Experience with SIEM and log management platforms such as:
- Splunk
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Cribl
- ELK
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP security services
- Scripting or automation experience using:
- Python
- Bash
- PowerShell
- Experience with vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working within a SOC environment or knowledge of AI security/hardening techniques would be advantageous.
