Security Engineer (Remote UK)

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically focused Security Engineer to support the protection of systems, networks and digital assets in a fully remote UK-based role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate who has a strong interest in cybersecurity, problem-solving and technology and wants to develop practical security engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monitoring and protection of systems, applications and networks.
  • Assist with identifying and investigating potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Help maintain security controls, policies and technical documentation.
  • Support incident investigation and security response activities.
  • Work with technical teams to help improve system and infrastructure security.
  • Assist with security assessments and routine technical checks.
  • Monitor security alerts and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Support improvements to security processes and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of security findings and actions.
  • Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity risks and threats.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in cybersecurity and information security.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of networks, systems and security principles.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and security concepts.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Previous cybersecurity, IT or technical project experience is beneficial but not essential.
