Job Opportunity
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Engineer - SecOps & Cloud based in United Kingdom.
This is an opportunity to join a fully remote, international technology environment and play a hands-on role in strengthening cloud and operational security.
You will help secure AWS infrastructure, endpoints, SaaS applications, and application-layer defenses across a growing digital platform.
The role combines day-to-day SecOps activities with longer-term security improvements, giving you meaningful ownership over the security landscape.
You will work closely with IT, DevOps, infrastructure, compliance teams, and external SOC providers to detect, investigate, and remediate security risks.
Your work will directly contribute to vulnerability reduction, incident response, compliance readiness, resilience, and secure cloud operations.

Accountabilities
- Improve and maintain AWS security configurations, including IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Amazon Inspector, and related security services.
- Manage security tooling across the organization, including EDR, MDM, DLP, compliance agents, and identity-related controls.
- Partner with IT to ensure laptops and endpoints consistently meet established security baselines.
- Review and respond to alerts from SOC providers, investigate security incidents, and coordinate final remediation activities.
- Lead vulnerability management activities and coordinate patching efforts with IT and DevOps teams.
- Maintain and improve WAF rules, anti-bot protections, and other application-layer security controls.
- Support access reviews, PCI-DSS assessments, and recurring security and compliance activities.
- Document and implement secure configurations for cloud infrastructure and SaaS applications.
- Contribute to backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity testing alongside infrastructure and IT teams.
- Provide practical recommendations for the security roadmap based on operational findings, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in Security Engineering, SecOps, Cloud Security, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on experience configuring, monitoring, and securing AWS environments.
- Practical familiarity with EDR, MDM, DLP, identity management, SSO, and MFA technologies.
- Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting security agents across endpoints.
- Knowledge of security incident investigation and experience coordinating with internal or external SOC teams.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management, remediation, and patching processes.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with IT, DevOps, infrastructure, and compliance stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to security operations.
- Ability to communicate security risks and practical recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code security, particularly Terraform, is a plus.
- Knowledge of container security technologies such as Kubernetes and Helm is advantageous.
- Experience automating security processes through scripting or CI/CD integrations is a bonus.
- Exposure to SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, evidence collection, or security audits is beneficial.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, automation, and security-tool optimization is highly valued.
