As a Security Engineer – Secure by Design & Platforms, you will play a key role in embedding security into SEFE’s technology landscape, ensuring security considerations are incorporated throughout the delivery lifecycle. Working within the Security Platforms & Architecture team, you will provide hands-on security engineering expertise, support secure-by-design practices, enhance security platforms, and help delivery teams implement pragmatic security controls that strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture.

What Will You Do

  • Partner with programme and project teams to embed secure-by-design principles from inception through to implementation, ensuring security requirements are clearly defined and consistently applied.
  • Conduct security design reviews, assess solution architectures, and perform threat modelling activities to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Provide ongoing security assurance across technology initiatives, supporting governance processes, security readiness assessments, and go-live reviews to ensure security requirements are met.
  • Manage and enhance Microsoft-focused security platforms, maintaining configurations, supporting integrations, and improving platform effectiveness to maximise security value.
  • Own and coordinate security platform support activities, including ticket management, issue resolution, vendor engagement, and the implementation of platform improvements and new security capabilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
