About The Role
The Senior Security Engineer - Network Products is a vital role within Bupa’s Security Operations team. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security measures across the organization’s network infrastructure and enterprise systems. The engineer will play a key role in shaping Bupa’s security posture by managing security tools, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, and continuously improving security protocols to safeguard Bupa’s assets and customer data. The Senior Security Engineer will collaborate closely with product management, IT teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure solutions aligned with business objectives. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and contributing to Bupa’s mission of making health happen.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in a product-based environment with Agile working practices
- Strong background in IT and networking, including BAU support and project environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Expertise in firewall management, Zscaler, Palo Alto, and SIEM solutions
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques
- Familiarity with intrusion techniques at perimeter and host levels
- Experience with automation tools such as Logic Apps and Sentinel automations
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, DLP, network security tools, AV/EDR solutions, and M365/Defender 365
- Scripting abilities and familiarity with security policies and standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Configure, implement, and manage security systems, including core technology components, SaaS services, and operational tools
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and streamline team processes for security tools and services
- Create and update playbooks, policies, custom rulesets, and perform tuning to enhance security maturity
- Lead efforts to respond to and recover from security incidents and breaches, ensuring minimal impact
- Validate and test hardware and software solutions for compliance with security standards
- Monitor, manage, and optimize security systems, ensuring timely patching and updates
- Provide technical advice and contribute to the design and implementation of security policies and procedures
- Collaborate with product management teams to meet security milestones within delivery sprints
- Understand business needs and work closely with stakeholders to develop security solutions that align with organizational goals
- Apply knowledge of security policy deployment, creating technical standards based on policy objectives
- Stay updated with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure proactive security measures
- Design and enforce least-privilege, application-aware security policies to protect organizational assets
