What is the DE&S Security Graduate Scheme?
Security is vital to everything we do at DE&S and wider defence. It supports and enables operational success as well as the wider work of the Ministry of Defence by protecting people, information and physical assets.
The DE&S Security Profession is responsible for the effective delivery of security across the organisation. During this two-year development programme, you'll gain hands-on experience in security management as well as specialised training, all whilst studying towards professional qualifications.

What You'll Need
To Apply For This Scheme, You'll Need
- GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent) at minimum grade 4
- An honours degree at a minimum classification of 2:2

What You'll Do
Security Management supports and enables the effective delivery and operational success of the Armed Forces and wider Ministry of Defence by protecting people, information and physical assets.
You'll develop your expertise in security management through on-the-job training and professionally recognised qualifications. This includes a Level 3 Certificate in Security Management from the Security Institute and a Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management through the Institute of Leadership and Management to broaden your skills in wider business operations and management.
Through rotational placements, you'll also get the opportunity to shadow a range of security management roles. This could include cyber security, project security and corporate security – providing you with well-rounded knowledge and experience on all things security management.
