Job Purpose
The purpose of a security guard's role is to prevent theft or any other illegal activity while providing security for premises and people.
Job Overview
A Security Guard is a vital role, being the first point of contact for visitors and responsible for protecting property or people by patrolling sites and acting as access control.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and secure environment and demonstrate a positive and professional approach towards guests, visitors, and colleagues
- Greet and welcome guests and visitors and control access
- Carry out regular checks to prevent theft
- Carry out lobby presence and patrol within the property
- Deal with undesirable behaviour
- Manage access control and locker facilities for colleagues
- Control of CCTV, IDS & Entry Control systems
- Report writing
- Liaise with other security personnel and outside agencies

Requirements

- A valid SIA licence - Door Supervisor or Security Guarding
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to follow instructions
- A professional manner and personal integrity
- Flexibility to work with the business needs
- A 5-year checkable work or education history
- Basic first aid skills would be advantageous.
- Physical strength and fitness.
- Prior experience as a Security Guard would be advantageous.
