Description
Location: Manchester (Office-based)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | Rotating shifts between 08:00–20:00 | On-call rota
At UBDS, we help organisations transform through cloud, cyber security, AI and digital innovation. As our Managed Services capability grows, we're looking for an experienced SIOC Shift Lead to protect, support and optimise critical customer environments.
This is a technical leadership role combining Security Operations (SOC) and Infrastructure Operations (IOC), where you'll lead incident response, mentor engineers and help deliver exceptional managed services.
What You'll Do
You'll:
- Lead security investigations and major operational incidents.
- Monitor and respond to alerts across SIEM, EDR and cloud platforms.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support across Azure, AWS and enterprise infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud, networking and security issues.
- Mentor and support SIOC Engineers.
- Drive service improvements, automation and operational excellence.
- Work closely with customers, internal teams and technology partners.
What We're Looking For
You'll have experience in a SOC, IOC, NOC or Managed Services environment, along with strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
- Windows Server and Microsoft Entra ID
- Networking, firewalls and enterprise infrastructure
- Security monitoring, SIEM and incident response
- ITIL service management

You'll also be an excellent problem solver with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Intune, Infrastructure as Code or scripting (PowerShell, Python or KQL) would be advantageous.
