About The Role

At Balfour Beatty, we're shaping some of the UK's most complex and critical infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Security Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of security across our prestigious Rolls-Royce project in Derby.

As Security Manager, you will establish, maintain, and develop the project's security function, ensuring the successful implementation of the project security strategy in line with Balfour Beatty policies and client requirements.

Working closely with the Rolls-Royce Security Team and project leadership, you will act as the single point of contact for all security matters, driving a coordinated and consistent approach to asset protection, personnel security, information security, and supply chain assurance.

What you'll be doing

As a Security Manager You Will

  • Establish, maintain and develop the security function for the project.
  • Implement the project security strategy in accordance with Balfour Beatty policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the client Security Team to implement agreed security policies and develop a comprehensive Security Management Plan.
  • Influence and promote a cohesive and unified approach to security across all project teams and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for security-related matters for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Investigate security incidents and criminal activity affecting the project and support appropriate resolution actions.
  • Manage the security vetting and clearance application process for employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensure document control processes meet project security requirements and compliance standards.
  • Oversee and maintain security assets deployed across the project.

  • Proven experience in a security management role within construction, infrastructure, defence, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of physical, personnel, information, and operational security principles.
  • Experience managing vetting processes and working with sensitive or security-classified information.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience conducting investigations, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Ability to develop policies, procedures, and security management plans.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
